Brooklyn Kiwanis Annual Craft Show with Antiques & Collectables - 10/28/2017

Brooklyn Kiwanis Club Looking for Crafters, Antiques & Collectable Vendors for the Annual Fall Craft Show 

The Brooklyn Kiwanis Club is still accepting applications for crafters, antiques and collectables for the annual Brooklyn Kiwanis Craft Show.  The event will be o be held on Saturday October 28th at Columbia Upper Elementary School from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.  New this year, Antiques and Collectables will also be part of the event.  Proceeds from this show will benefit local children and community projects sponsored by the Brooklyn Kiwanis Club. Brooklyn Community Easter Egg Hunt Sponsored by the Brooklyn Kiwanis Club Scheduled for April 15, 2017 - 03/27/2017

On Saturday April 15th, the Brooklyn Kiwanis Club will be hosting the annual Community Easter Egg Hunt in Brooklyn.  The Easter Egg hunt will be held at Columbia Upper Elementary School's Football Field, which is located at 321 School Street in Brooklyn.  The public is invited to attend this free event, which will begin at 10:00 a.m.  sharp! Children up to age 11 will be able to hunt for Easter eggs, toys, candy, and prizes. Brooklyn Kiwanis and Scout Cabin Association Offering American Flag Program - 03/01/2017

The Brooklyn Kiwanis and Brooklyn Scout Cabin Association have begun taking orders for their new American Flag Program to be launched this summer. For $40 / year, an American Flag, bought locally and made in the U.S.A, will be posted in customers’ yards for the following holidays: Armed Forces Day thru Memorial Day; Flag Day; Independence Day; Labor Day through 9/11; and Veterans Day. “We loved the idea helping our neighbors show their patriotism, while also helping our local kids through Kiwanis programs and the Brooklyn Scout Cabin Association,” says organizer Mark Holbert.

Hundreds of Items Donated for K-Kids Clothing Drive - 10/01/2016

For the past few weeks the K-Kids of Columbia Upper Elementary School have been collecting clothing and winter wear from members of the community for their first annual clothing drive / swap. Students donated clothes, winter coats, snow pants and other items that they had outgrown. For each item donated, they received a credit that they could then use to shop in the K-Kids store during conferences. For those who didn’t have credits, everything was marked at $5 or less.


“We wanted to give local families a way to get coats, snow pants and other clothes before it gets too cold,” says 4th grader, Blythe McClain. “It turned out really well for our first year.”...

Brooklyn, MI 49230 from August 8th –  12th and again from the 15th –  19th .

Any school supplies listed on the Columbia School website are appreciated. The full lists can be found at on the main page for each school building. Common items needed include: glue sticks, crayons, dry erase markers, washable markers, tissue, Clorox wipes, highlighters, scissors, erasers, glue and colored pencils.

Brooklyn Kiwanis Sponsors Annual “Baby” Shower for C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital - 05/01/2016

Brooklyn, MIFor Immediate Release – Brooklyn Kiwanis is hosting their Annual C.S. Mott Children's Hospital Luncheon Shower on Tuesday May 10th at 11:30 a.m. This event is open to the public and will be held at All Saints Episcopal Church in Brooklyn, located at 151 N. Main Street. New items for children of all ages ranging from infants and toddlers to teens, are needed by Mott Children's Hospital. Brooklyn Kiwanis Hosts the Distinguished Young Women of Michigan - 02/02/2016

The Brooklyn Kiwanis Club is proud to help sponsor the Distinguished Young Women of Michigan Scholarship Program.  Each year the Distinguished Young Women of Michigan visit the Brooklyn Kiwanis Club and are the guest speakers for the day. Brooklyn Kiwanis Club also awarded two community service essay scholarships.  This year the winners were Emma Seidel from Oakland County and Antrunika Alonzo from Wayne/ Westland.  Congratulations to all the state contestants. 

Brooklyn Community Tree Lighting & Holiday Parade - 11/27/2015

The Brooklyn Kiwanis Club is proud to be a part of the Brooklyn Community Tree Lighting Ceremony and Holiday Parade on Friday, November 27th from 5 - 9 p.m. in downtown Brooklyn.  Come visit Mrs. Claus, who will be reading holiday stories to children at Columbia Interiors.  Our Builders Club and Key Club will be helping the community sign Christmas cards to be sent to military members serving our country.  And don't forget to check out Santa's reindeers.  And our club is helping Santa pass our gifts to all the children who have been nice!  Come join us for a great holiday event sponsored by the Brooklyn DDA.
